Let's Voice Chat, Everybody!!!

If you arrived here by clicking the LAUNCH button on FireTalk, make sure that the FireTalk window is visible so you can see if there is anybody in here that you can talk to.  (Click HERE for 27 GREAT HINTS on how to use your FireTalk.)

If you don't have FIRETALK, keep reading...

All you need is...

  • microphone

  • free FireTalk software    (click to download software)

Ok, here's the story.  You are about to have an amazing experience.

Download and install the FireTalk program by clicking on the icon above.

  • After downloading the software, double-click on the file that you downloaded and let it install on your computer.  Make sure that you have a microphone connected to your computer.  As part of the installation, FireTalk will walk you through the testing of your microphone and speakers.  After it sets up everything for you, it will ask you to choose a USERNAME.  Why not use the same name as you use now (the first part of your current e-mail address)?  Follow the instructions given regarding sign-up with Fire-Talk (it's absolutely FREE, nothing, nada, zero).  After supplying a USERNAME, you'll get an e-mail with your FireTalk ID# and temporary password.  Enter this ID# and password in the FireTalk sign-on screen.  (Write down the ID# and password... you can change the password later.)

  • If you need extra help concerning the installation of FireTalk, just click HERE for STEP by STEP instructions about setting up FireTalk.  Then PRINT out the instructions and start the installation.  (Don't forget to come back here and read the rest of the good stuff below!)

  • When you start up (sign on) the program for the first time, you'll be sent to a "new users" web site and you'll read some very clearly written instructions about the program.  Better than that, you'll be able to go to a "Tech Support" or "New Users" voice chat room (called a FORUM) where you can ask questions about the program. Play with it a little bit and you'll be absolutely fascinated.  Click on this graphic to see a sample of the FireTalk window
dl_screenshot.gif (40507 bytes)  (then use BACK to return here).

  • Here comes the good part for us fans of OLDMASTER85...  Go to the top of the FireTalk window and click on the TOOLS dropdown menu.  From the menu, choose OPTIONS and then click on the INTERNET TAB.  Look at the bottom of the window where it says "URL to load on Launch" and replace the FireTalk website with the OldMaster85 website by typing HTTP://WWW.OLDMASTER85.COM/CHATROOM.HTM

  • Of course you'll click on APPLY and then OK to get you back to the main program window.  Now, guess what's gonna happen when you click on the LAUNCH button that's located in the lower left corner of your FireTalk window (FireTalk on the Web)?  RIGHT!!!  A special "voice enabled" Internet Explorer window will open up and bring you to the OLDMASTER85 web site.  Get that FireTalk window visible on your screen and you'll see who else is in the OldMaster85 Voice Chat with you.  Talk and they will hear you.  If you're alone, then nobody else is visiting at the moment.  (HINT:  You can force the FireTalk window to stay on top... visible... by Right-Clicking on its icon on your task bar and choosing "Keep Window On Top".)

  • Let's go over that again.  If you click on the LAUNCH (FireTalk on the WEB) button, you will be brought to the OLDMASTER85 site and you'll be in the OLDMASTER85 VOICE CHAT ROOM.  Make sure that your FireChat window is visible (on top of the website screen) so you can see who else is in the OLDMASTER85 chatroom with you.  You can go to any of the pages at the OLDMASTER85 web site and you'll still be able to talk to other visitors at the site. (Note: If you close the special "voice enabled" OldMaster85 explorer screen, you'll be leaving the OldMaster85 voice chat...you'll be leaving the OldMaster85 "forum")

  • Here, again, is an illustration of the MAIN FireTalk window... and below the illustration you'll find some tips that will make it easier to understand and use...

  • If you want to talk to OLDMASTER85 privately, his FireTalk number is 218188.  Also, he likes to run a forum called "FISHING TALK".  Look for it in the forum listing.  He expects to be on FireTalk regularly starting January 1st.

  • Lastly, if you need help, send an e-mail to misteraguy@earthlink.net (the WebMaster at OldMaster85.com) and he'll help you with the FireTalk program.

  • And, of course, don't forget to look up MisterAguy (FireTalk# 202585) and talk to him.

We'll be talking to you!!!
